  1. An English scientist, Robert Hooke was the first person to discover the existence of cells with the help of microscope in 1665. In 1674, Antoine Van Leeuwenhoek – A Dutch scientist, studied living cells (bacteria, protozoa, RBC, etc.) for the first time. He was able to study them with the help of an improved microscope, which he made himself. He was popularly known as “the father of microbiology” later he made a name for himself in municipal politics, and eventually gained an interest in lens making.
