Olympics are held once in every four years at different locations. Last time they were held in 2012 in London. The upcoming Summer Olympics of 2016 would be held in Rio de Jeneiro, Brazil in the month of August. There is a total of 306 events featuring 28 different sports. The events would take place in 33 different venues spread across Rio. Two sports, viz. rugby and golf were added by the committee for the event. As of January, 2016 there is a total of 145 countries participating in the event. The official mascots have been released and they feature the native animals of Brazil for Olympics and native plants for the Paralympics event. The opening ceremony would on 5th August, 2016 and closing is on 21st August, 2016. Both would take place at the Maracana stadium.
