Math Trick:Easy Solution Compounding Problems-Part 1

This math trick will floor you. Compound interest maths problems solves our daily life’s practical problems. For example , world over people are interested to know how his or her money grew in bank which offers , among many other products, term deposits or fixed deposits which carry compounded interest.One of the very common question by a person may ” if my miney grows at this interest rate by bank by two times in 6 years, in how many will it grow to 4times?.math_tricks_compounding_interest

Do not worry , there is a mth trick to solve such common math problems.Using this  math trick, questions like this can be solved aby any one in a minute, if by some practice without even using any pen or paper. For example , say the problem is [box type=”info”] If a sum becomes 4 times in 6 years, in how many years , will it became 8 times? The answer is 1.5 x 6= 9 years How did I find the answer?[/box]

The Math Trick on Compounding Problems

Formula is

 if a sum becomes x times in y years, then on same interest, it will become [latex]X^n[/latex] in NY years. That’s it !

Let us apply the trick to the aforesaid problem

X = 4 times

Y= 6 years

So as per formula, it wll by[latex] x^n[/latex] in nY years

In other words, [latex]x^n[/latex] = 8 times ( given in the problem itself)

[latex]4^n[/latex]=8;

So [latex]4^1×4^frac{1}{2}[/latex]=8;

so  [latex]4^1 x 4^1/2=8[/latex]

so [latex]4^1frac{1}{2}=8[/latex]

So N =[latex] 1frac{1}{2}=1.5[/latex]

So the Answer is NY years i.e 1.5 x 6 = 9 years

Question 1
If 100 becomes 200 in 4 years, how many years will it take to become 800?
A
9
B
12
C
8
D
10
Question 1 Explanation:
100 becomes 200 means 2 times. So x is 2.As per formula [latex]x^n=8 [/latex]So[latex] 2^n=8 or n =3.[/latex]This answer is NY years = 3 x 4 = 12 years
Question 2
If a sum deposited at compound interest becomes twice in four years,when will it become 4 times?
A
6
B
7
C
4
D
8
Question 2 Explanation:
So x is 2.As per formula [latex]x^n=4 [/latex]So[latex] 2^n=4 or n =2.[/latex]This answer is NY years = 4 x 2 = 8years
Question 3
100 become 300 in 3 years. In how many years, will it become 9 times?
A
4
B
6
C
8
D
9
Question 3 Explanation:
100 becomes 300 means 3 times. So x is 3.As per formula [latex]x^n=9 [/latex]So[latex] 3^n=9 or n =2.[/latex]This answer is NY years = 3 x 2 = 6years
