500 and 1000 Rupee Note Banning: 10 Must Know

500 and 1000 rupee notes becoming a mere paper has thrown the citizens of India into a frenzy. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi announced the on 8th November, 2016 during a special speech telecast for the purpose. The action has been taken in a bid to fight corruption and black money. Starting from 9th November, all the rupee 500 and 1000 bank note issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) would be banned. However, currency of lower denominations shall continue to be traded. In addition, the RBI would be releasing new bank notes of 2000 and 500 denomination which would be in circulation from 11th November.
