Would like to become a free lance writer, and fell that I have the knowledge and research tools available to do so; however, I need to gain some credibility to join a specific freelance writing website. How would I go about becoming published in a credible publication concerning current affairs, and what exactly constitutes being published? Do letters to the editor?
Since having children, I’ve found it difficult to listen to or read the news. Mainly because I find the doom and gloom (war, conflict, murders, natural disasters…) very depressing. I know my reaction isn’t normal because I start thinking how screwed up the world is; I should never have had children because their future is doomed; very melodramatic b/s.
Does anyone have a similar reactions? And how can I change my perception of and reaction to current affairs?
I’m after a way that i can will keep up to date with all current news events – specifically in UK. I want to know and understand current affairs, but i find reading news papers or watching the news really tedious. So something interesting and fun, preferably online. But i still want to feel more intellectual for having watched it?

I’m a student in sixth form and I’m really interested in Current Affairs and the like, I want to International Relations at university. I was wondering whether anyone had good advice on what websites, magazines, books, films etc are good for gaining a basic understanding of this stuff as sometimes I get bogged down in it all. I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report which are quite useful but when they talk about American Political History, I’m lost, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
You can also tell about people like pratibha patil, sunita williams and many more. Also tell the website where you found that. But main is current affairs, events and inventions.

I would like to know…
Are you a young person that is interested in politics and current affairs?
If so what issues are you most concerned about or interested in?
What viewpoints do you have? Would you classify yourself as a Conservative, a Liberal or somewhere in between?
If you are a young person that is not interested why not?
And for older people…
How important do you think it is for young people to be involved?

I am currently an A-level student who has applied to do law at uni in september. I am interested in current affairs (I am constantly reading some form of news story whether it be an app on my phone, in a newspaper or just watching the 24 hour news channles) law, business and politics. Other than journalism, I want to know if there is any other jobs that are heavily based around current affairs?
Thanks in advance.
Really need help desperately.

Do they think the public wont notice if they recycle old news as current affair? My concern is that these repeated stories arent the most pressing issue at hand.
